Year 11 at the Downtown Teaching Farm was one of quiet working groups, the return of the shade sails, and the return of the students! We also have proudly grown 9 different crops for the Snake River Seed Cooperative this year, although we had a few failures with our Casper Eggplant and some challenges with our Scarlet Runner Beans (which were beautiful but then got eaten by the deer). We are grateful to continue using the space in the coming season and look forward to more frequent community gatherings.
Application for the Community Garden Coordinator Position can be found HERE.
We did also receive grant support from Whole Foods (their campaign is called Whole Kids) and we are certainly grateful for that financial support. Most importantly we thank the students, teachers, and volunteers for their continuous involvement, cheers, and hard work.
Enjoy these photos from this season, and I hope to see you all at the garden sometime soon.
Take care and enjoy the holidays!
